Happy International Non-binary People’s Day!

The 14th of July is International Non-binary People’s day and celebrates the wide range of people who are Non-binary worldwide! I know so many wonderful Non-binary people and I’m so proud of how far they’ve come. I’m always trying to learn and be a better ally and I found this article by Stonewall really useful in helping me find ways to ‘step up’ as an ally to Non-binary people. I suggest you read it too. In the U.K. and worldwide, there’s still a long way to go in terms of rights for Non-binary people including legal recognition and improvements to people’s lives such as X gender options on passports. The fight still goes on but for now I want to celebrate all the amazing Non-binary people around the world.

Did you know?

Kye Rowan created the nonbinary pride flag, which has yellow, white, purple, and black horizontal stripes, in 2014. The yellow stripe represents people whose gender exists outside of the binary, the white stripe, people with many or all genders, the purple, people with genders considered a mix of male and female, and the black people who identify as not having a gender.

I love

The song ‘Binary‘ by The Spook School that explores “fluidity and the lack of a binary in gender” amongst other things. Go check it out!

Stay safe and stay wonderful.
